This 9 piece sidelite with an angled corner mullion was fit in under three minutes.
Deronde designed a slot and tab construction that maximizes efficiency and throughput while maintaining quality and consistency.
A peek at some of our newest projects
YOU HAVE TO PAY DETENTION!
Last thing we do on every detention door & frame is test the product! As you can see, this inmate is safe and secure behind this heavy duty door. No chance for a break out here!
Here are a set of doors we did for Borden Park in Edmonton, Alberta. The doors are over-sized and made with hot-rolled material. Post-manufacturing they were finished with a clear powder coat to maintain the rustic aesthetic of the material. Custom astragal pull handles were designed by the architect and manufactured and installed on the doors here at Deronde as well. View other photos and learn more about the project at GH3.
CHECK OUT OUR ANGLED STOP
Take a look at this no-restriction opening with an inclined stop. The stop was furnished to cover the door while open and not inhibit cargo going through the door which was specified by the end user. Due to restrictions at the site, the anchoring system (see at bottom of jambs) was fabricated out of 1 piece of material on the 'opening' side of the frame but does not effect traffic.
NO JOB TOO BIG, NO TASK TO SMALL
Here is another example of Deronde being able to manufacture a job that is complicated for other manufacturers but is "right in our wheelhouse." The customer asked us to retrofit a frame to match an existing sidelite - but with no sidelite. The end result was a jamb face that was over 15" that had to fit a 2" head and standard door. To insure stability we braced the face with brackets. It was also requested that we close the top of the heads and jambs.
If you can dream it we can manufacture it!
SS DOORS WITH RADIUS/DETENTION WINDOW KIT
To the left is a full glass Stainless Steel door with a detention style radius-corner window kit. The flush side was manufactured out of 1 piece of material so that persons are unable to detach and remove the glass. This measure is taken to increase security and limit vandalism. The door will be installed it a local public pool in the Buffalo area.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING!
We recently shipped our first Powder Coat finished door & frame unit. Standard shipping calls for product to be prime painted and shipped but this needed us to go the extra mile. The unit was manufactured to insure that it could be hung and withstand the high temperature heat that powder coating uses. Once coated, the doors and frames were assembled by our welding team (no post-coating welds) and shipped with caution to protect the finish. We loved being immersed in a project like this and working with our customers to find the right end product for every job.
CAN YOU SPOT THE DIFFERENCE?
We took on another new project over the summer involving manufacturing 12 gauge frames & doors that also needed an installed custom exterior window kits with made-to-order muntins. The job involved recreating the original design for the units as well as engineering a transom to fit the existing louver. Take a look at the before and after photos and see for yourself the improvement that can be made on any project due to our desire to work with customer to fit their specifications.
THE BIGGER THE BETTER
A short time ago Deronde was tasked with building 22' long sidelites that were not spliced
for St. Mary's in Syracuse, NY. The entire sidelite was welded in the shop and and shipped as one complete unit. The head was customs designed to fit the site and shipped as a customer 22'
U-channel. No project is too big or too small - let us take on the next one with you!
TWO SIDES TO EVERY...HOSPITAL
We recently manufactured over 100 custom borrowed
lites for each floor of the brand new John R. Oishei Children's Hospital on the
Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. The single rabbet profile was designed in house
to the architect's specification including a 3" faces and thumbwheel turn prep.
Frames were delivered over a two month period as the floors were ready to receive.
We are ready for the next challenge!
HISTORIC HOTEL SYRACUSE
We are thrilled to be apart of the Hotel Syracuse
revitalization effort. Our role was to work with our
distributor and architect to form radius-faced frames that
replicate those already in the hotel. The old and new frames
will be side by side in the hotel corridors. It took special
tooling and a team of experts plus a can do spirit to get the job done.
Special mention to Jim Sr., a brake operator with over 30 years experience,
leading the way figuring out how the frames were manufactured.
We are finding that more and more end users are looking for
arch door and frames. Whatever your need and use is, Deronde
is here to help you along the way!
Sometimes you need a change. If the a standard edge on a
door is not what you need then Deronde has the answer.
Take a look at this rounded edge, "bull-nose" door.
All you need to do is lay out what you need and
Deronde is here for you.
Ever wanted to walk right through a door?
Deronde has constructed Wicket Doors for
a distributor working in a hospital. These can be used
to quarantine an area or to offer limited accessability.
You design and we will manufacture!
Have a need for a clean cut, aesthetically pleasing, hole-less frame?
We have had an influx of these simple yet useful frames. This
particular frame needed a sill installed for the opening.
We love a challenge, let us know what we can design for you!
McGarrey's Oakwood Café - ERIE, PA
A distributor in Pennsylvania sent us pictures of
a custom frame and profile we manufactured for
them recently that was for an Irish pub &
restaurant. The new entrance is screaming in
Irish pride for the upcoming holiday!
DOUBLE EGGRESS WITH HOSPITAL STOP
On the left are two Double Egress frames with Hospital Stop
jambs - two specially designed, DDF-engineered products. Pictured is

A BORROWED LITE AROUND THE CORNER...
A new project came to Deronde in April 2015. Our client requested
a Corner Borrowed Lite with no corner mulliion. Our engineers
and welding team worked together to create this specialized construction.
When it arrives at its final destination, two separate pieces of glass
will be installed to complete the view.
